In 2010 on a break after completing an 18 month consulting contract with a locally based International Events Company, James took a part-time management position at Peake of Catering, working for David Peake. The plan was to have a bit of fun on a shorter term contract while working on a strategic strategy to envision the next stages for Peake, while planning his next personal business venture. Unfortunately, just six months after James joined the Peake team, David suffered a massive heart attack while playing a game of racquetball – David’s passing was devastating. James had lost a dear friend and the team had lost its iconic leader. At the time James stepped into the role of running the company, out of sheer shock and in reaction to the needs of the business and David’s family. After running the company for a couple of years, James decided to fully commit and bought Peake of Catering from the Peake family.
James loves collaborating with his team of professional Event Planners and Chefs to create one of a kind occasions that wow our clients. It’s about bringing a client’s vision to reality, regardless of the boundaries and really listening carefully to what is important to them.
